The purpose of the DRAMA team is to Declare Redemption through the Arts of Mime & Acting.  The Faith Baptist drama team is led by Stephanie Frazier & is made up of several gifted teens, pre-teens, & adults.  This group works hard to bring glory to God through their expressive interpretation of Christian songs.  The drama team combines mime, acting, & signing to create a powerful display of silent emotions felt by each listener.  This group brings a blessing with each performance.  Practices are held on Sunday evenings at 5:00pm before the evening service/AWANA & at special called times.  If you are interested in joining this talented group, follow God’s direction, & step up.

Why use drama?
Throughout the Bible, Jesus knew He was speaking to both churched & unchurched people.  If we are speaking to an American, we speak in English.  If we are speaking to a Spaniard, we speak in Spanish.  If we attempt to speak to an American while speaking Spanish, the American may not understand the words we are speaking.  Another example – if we are speaking to a child, we use smaller words that they understand.  If we are speaking to a college class, we speak using terms that are more appropriate for their education level.  If we attempt to speak to a child in the same words we use to speak to the college students, the child is less likely to understand what is being told or asked of them.  This is why Jesus used stories, parables, & drama to relay His message.  In this same way, we are able to use drama to speak to some that otherwise may not understand or even be interested in learning more.  We are instructed during the Great Commission to go into the world & spread the Gospel message.  This is just one of the tools available today at our disposal to spread the good news about God’s saving grace!

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (KJV)
 19For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
 20And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
 22To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
 23And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

Matthew 13:34 (KJV)

 34All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

Luke 9:46-48 (KJV)

 46Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.
47And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
 48And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
